Coach Meagan Lynn DarnellMeagan is mom to three children; Hailey, Travis & Kendra & her pack of furs! She's an amateur Horse Trainer, Certified Professional Dog Trainer, Certified Professional Groomer, owner of Mayrich Kennels & mentor trainer for the Animal Behavior College of America. She also owns & operates HTK Farms and therawstore.ca
Meagan has a passion for coaching and takes an encouraging and loving approach with all of her students. "I work for my students. Not the other way around...and I love my students. I truly believe that it's my job to meet my student where they're at and adjust my program based on their individual goals & dog's ability. Every dog is an individual as is every student, so as a Coach I must never hold rigidly to one method or ideology, being unwilling to bend or change. I will forever be open to learning, growth & adaptation and have seen many "flunk-out" dogs flourish in my program as a result." -Meagan |

Meagan has been training dogs to work cattle for over 12 years, and has always had a passion to work with and train a variety of breeds and even "off-breeds" as long as they possess the desire to work stock; even training her Dobermann, Denver, to work and herd the cattle on her farm before getting more seriously into herding breeds. She's owned and trained several breeds including German Shepherd Dogs, Beauceron, Australian Cattle Dog, Belgian Malinois, Border Collies & Kelpies. For almost a decade she has been working with students and a variety of breeds, including the aforementioned as well as Australian Shepherds, Pumis, Mudis, Belgian Shepherds & mixed breeds in her behavioural herding program. This is a successful rehab program that Meagan created and developed in order to take on dogs that were suffering from behavioural issues, (usually as a direct lack of being able to exercise their genetic and inherent need to work). While her program was mainly a behavioural one geared toward real farm work, solid skills and not necessarily trialing, after much encouragement, (as she describes herself as "the least competitive person on earth"), she took the dive into the trial world. In 2020, she headed west competing in Novice class in her first cattle trial. She was also fortunate enough to host the first ever CCDA & NCA sanctioned trial in Ontario at her facility, Mayrich Kennels. In 2021, she competed successfully in Ontario & Quebec.
In 2021, Meagan was given the honour of being named the National Cattledog Association Canadian Ambassador for her efforts in promoting Cattle Trials and the working cow dog within Ontario & Canada. She and her dog Brantley also took home the 2021/2022 season National Cattledog Association novice high points win out of 150 teams in North America, with her and her dog Phil snagging third. Meagan and Brantley also won the Canadian Cattle Dog Association novice high points out of over 40 teams, with her and her dog Phil coming in second.

You could say that Tamarra has been obsessed with herding since she took her very very first lesson, right here at Mayrich Kennels in the Spring of 2017. She showed up and has essentially been on the farm ever since... in fact, herding has transformed her life so much, that she's traded in her city digs for a country property that will enable her to pursue her passion full-time. "You learn so much by watching others; watching what works, watching what doesn't work," says Tamarra. She enjoyed watching herding so much that she could often be found sitting in on classes, making notes and studying, and this dedication has shown to pay off in the trialing arena. Tamarra and her Border collies began competing in cattle trials in 2020, and sheep trials in 2021 and have been enjoying a tremendous amount of success ever since. Tamarra and her Border Collie, Mcfly (bred by Meagan Lynn Darnell), won 3rd place for high points novice cattle in CCDA (out of over 40 teams in Canada) for the 2021/2022 season and placed top 20 for high points in the NCA out of 150 teams. While Tamarra is a serious competitor by nature (including being a World Senior International Synchronized Figure Skater), she enjoys helping her students reach their own personal goals, whether that be competing in trials, or simply building a better working relationship with their best friend.
